Co-Worker's Not-So-Candid Quotes
"Everyone knows that Ssra is technically adept and fantastically creative. He's leading our Development work with his open mind, humility, and wise perspective. What most don't know is what a true gentleman he is and what a tender spirit he has. Ssra cares very much about what he does and brings that passion to all that he does."
"Ssra pushes the envelope in bringing our monsters to life and making fighting more exciting. He's like a mad scientist, but in a good way."
"A powerhouse among GMs, there seems to be nothing this guy can't accomplish. If there's any flaw in him, it's that he's TOO good...we all want a piece of his time! And he makes a heck of a spotted owl."
"He's actually insane enough to mess with combat, creatures *and* magic. Pheer his insanity, but appreciate it, too."
"Ssra is deeply committed, resourceful, innovative, imaginative and driven. What more could you possibly want from a GM? Having him on staff is a huge plus for the game and all of the GMs. If I could do a tenth of what he does, I'd be pretty happy with myself. "
"Ssra is incredible - very skilled coder and willing to jump in and help if things go wonky. It aaaalways makes me feel better to see him around when I'm on duty."
"What can one say about GM Ssra! He's amazing!"
"From being good friends with him as a player to working with him behind the scenes, I can honestly say I understand him less and less, but have grown to appreciate him more and more. (Damned code-wizards!)"
"I wish we could clone him. Everything would run perfectly with all the old systems updated and lots of new ones in the works and completed faster than you could blink. This guy constantly amazes me."
"I can come up with the wildest proposals or the most twisted ideas, and more often than not, he says "If you think you can do it, do it." He doesn't just rock on the player side of things, he's great behind-the-scenes as well."
"Of all the people I've worked with, I believe GM Ssra has the most complete grasp of the many intricate systems that make up DR. I know if I hit a stumbling block, he's willing and able to walk me through it."
"Ssra's easy genius is a godsend for us all -- he's always willing to tackle even the most daunting projects."
"What can I say? The guy is amazing. He has a very strong work ethic and is the most dedicated GM I've had the pleasure to interact with."
"Without a doubt, GM Ssra is a coding genius. However, when he's not releasing something to a player, he's usually volunteering to help another GM with one of their projects. If I had not met him personally, I would assume that there were really 2 or 3 people doing his job, as few could maintain such boundless energy."
I starting playing DR in 1997 during my senior year in high school. A buddy of mine told me about this game called "DragonRealms" and how awesome it was. When I saw him log in for the first time I was like, "So where are the graphics?" Much to my dismay he set me up with some basic gear and left me in ship rats. A few deaths later (GO SILVERFISH) I decided this game was not for me. He talked me into trying it once again and the rest is history. One of my most vivid memories in DR was spending all of my time in goblins (because that's the only area I knew) and I managed to save up like five plat which was pretty significant money back then. Upon arrival of the web fest I took my five plat outside the NE gate of crossing and it immediately got stolen. If you can't beat em, join em! Thief from that day forth. I did continue to play my Moon Mage a fair amount, and enjoyed it so much so, I created two: my lore moon mage and my combat moon mage along with my thief.
I don't remember when I was hired as a GM. Everything after that point is hazy. It's at that time that I started to live on a steady diet of coffee (bad days) and Jack Daniels (good days). I'm currently the Development Manager which means I have done a pretty good job of convincing everyone I know what I'm doing when actually it's the team that deserves all the credit. I tend to make executive decisions when there is no consensus and I'm glad to say those instances are pretty rare. I couldn't ask to be working with a better group of people.
I am looking forward to the future and I think it is very bright for DR. We have some very good things on the horizon.

And the Zobmondo question:
Would you rather...
Be stranded on an island for two years with 20 friends of your choice...
With 20 famous people of your choice??
I'd rather be on an island with my friends. In that way I know who to team up with so I'd get all the immunities in the DR version of Survivor.
