Troubleshooting CyberStrike 2

If you're having troubles runnning CyberStrike 2, there are a few things you can check that may fix the problem.

1.  Do you meet the technical requirements?

CyberStrike 2 requires the following to run. If you don't meet the requirements, you may need to upgrade your system.

Microsoft Windows anything from Win 95 onward
Intel Pentium 200 mhz required, Intel Pentium 233 mhz or higher recommended.
32 megabytes RAM.  48 megabytes of RAM recommended.
DirectX 5.2 or higher *
Joystick recommended
28.8K or faster modem for internet play

A 3D accelerator card

2. Have you downloaded and installed the CyberStrike 2 Multiplayer software?

While we require you to download the software to sign up for a CyberStrike 2 account, we know that sometimes there may be instances where you've lost your software.  In that case, you'll need to get the software again.

Download CyberStrike 2 Multiplayer

Download CyberStrike 2 Multiplayer with Single Player Missions

The CyberStrike 2 software actually consists of two components - the Simutronics Games Launcher and the CyberStrike 2 game.  In some cases, you may have the software, but be unable to launch the game.  To reinstall just the Launcher software, click here.

3. Do you have DirectX 5.2 or higher, or Glide?

CyberStrike 2 requires that you have DirectX 5.2 or higher, or Glide, installed on your computer.  For your convenience, we are providing links to each.

Which driver should you use?  Glide only works with 3Dfx cards -- Voodoo1, 2, Rush and Banshee -- if you don't have one of these cards, don't install it! If you do have one of these cards, you may wish to try both DirectX and Glide to see which works best with your CyberStrike 2 configuration.

Download DirectX

Download Glide for Voodoo cards
