SimuCon Policies

BEHAVIOR POLICY

Behaving in a manner that is disruptive, dangerous, annoying, harassing, unseemly, or illegal is strictly prohibited. Should Simutronics feel that an attendee is behaving in such a manner, we reserve the right to remove the attendee from an event or from the whole convention without refund. If, in our sole discretion, the situation warrants it, we will contact local authorities. At all times attendees will be required to conduct themselves in a responsible manner as well as follow all local, state, and federal laws.

An attendee will be ejected from the convention and all events, without refund, if said attendee directly assists someone that is not a registered convention attendee in "sneaking" into convention events.

Anyone under the age of 21 should be aware that Missouri State Laws prohibits them from consuming alcoholic beverages. It is also against state laws to provide alcohol to someone under the age of 21.

If the hotel deems it necessary to take action against an attendee for poor behavior, damage to property, etc., whether they charge a fee or remove said attendee from the hotel entirely, Simutronics will not interfere in any way. If this results in the attendee not being able to attend the convention, the attendee will not receive a refund for the convention.

Please try to remember that we are all here to have a good time and each person is responsible for their own behavior to ensure a wonderful weekend.

WEAPONS POLICY

Sheathed or Unloaded Weapons of a medieval fashion are allowed on the hotel property, but should not leave the hotel grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, swords, daggers, crossbows, and slings. If you bring a medieval projectile weapon such as a crossbow or regular bow, it must be unloaded with no ammunition present.

(NOTE: We are not responsible for any items left unattended or held by one of our staff members.)

While these weapons are allowed, we do have some rules that you must follow:

  • Do NOT allow any weapon to be handled by children.
  • Do NOT use any weapon in a threatening or dangerous manner.
  • Do NOT swing your weapon around.
  • Do NOT hurt anyone. (It goes without saying that killing is strictly prohibited.)

As long as you comply with these simple rules as well as local, state and federal laws, Simutronics welcomes your costumes being more authentic with the addition of weapons. If, in our sole discretion, we feel that an attendee is using his or her weapon in a threatening manner, or if other guests complain that they feel threatened by an attendee or his/her weapons, we reserve the right to remove an attendee's weapons from the event, ask the attendee to leave without refund, and/or contact the local authorities.

Simutronics has never experienced a problem with people carrying the above noted weapons. Please help us make sure that we can allow people to bring their medieval weapons to future such events by ensuring that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time here.

AGE POLICY

Simutronics can NOT take responsibility for a minor. A minor is anyone under the age of 18. Anyone attending who is under the age of 18, but over the age of 12 may do so only under one of the following situations:

  • A minor may bring a parent or a legal guardian to the convention. Both the minor and the legal guardian or parent must register as a paid attendee of the convention. The guardian must sign a release form at the registration desk.
    • A minor may bring his or her parent or legal guardian to the registration desk at the convention, and have them sign the release form. The minor may, at this point, attend the convention without parent or legal guardian present.
    • A minor may print out our release form, have his or her parent or legal guardian fill out all of the information with a notarized signature and return it to us no later than July 7th, 2007. The minor may, at this point, attend the convention without parent or legal guardian present.

Simutronics must have a notarized release form in its possession at the time of registration. Signatures which have not been notarized, will NOT be honored under any circumstance and the minor will not be allowed to attend the convention and will not receive a refund.

Print out the Release Form.

Note: Any minor under the age of 13 will be classified as a child and MUST have a parent or legal guardian attend, as a registered attendee, all events with them. Any unaccompanied child will be removed from the convention without refund.

IMPORTANT: Any minors under the age of 18, should not plan on attending the convention without following the procedures detailed above. If an attendee fails to comply, the attendee will not be allowed in to the convention nor will he or she receive a refund.
