Operating for centuries in secrecy, the Necromancers were long thought by the general populace of Elanthia to be a myth. Accepting that death is as much a part of the natural order as life, the Kinnaes became the first to welcome and foster this estranged path of magic into their ranks. The Sundering and the rise of the Broken -- not-quite-living, not-quite-dead monsters -- have caused the grudging acceptance of Necromancers and their role in the new, distorted world. As master manipulators of the forces of entropy, the Necromancers are as much feared for their power to weaken and debilitate their foes as they are their penchant to "play" with dead things.
