Convocation of Coraesine Field Posted on 4/3/2009 3:28:26 PM by the Webstaff
In the midst of it all, of course, is the rock and the coraesine...
The Convocation of Coraesine Field event will be open to invited guests on the following dates:
April 16-22 (Prime) - Tickets on sale Friday, April 3, 8pm EDT. Premium early-bird from 8pm-11pm EDT.
April 23-29 (Prime) - Tickets on sale Saturday, April 4, Noon EDT. Premium early-bird from Noon-2pm EDT.
May 14-20 (Plat) - Tickets on sale Friday, April 3, 8pm EDT.
May 21-27 (Prime) - Tickets on sale Saturday, April 4, 8pm EDT. Premium early-bird from 8pm-9pm EDT.
(Note that each player account will be limited to purchasing no more than one ticket across the three Prime runs.)
Invited guests should be aware that the majority of the activity and all special services will be released between the event's opening and Sunday evening of each event run (referred to as the ‘merchant-heavy’ portion of the event). After that period of time, the event grounds will remain open primarily for shopping and role-play. A raffle and auction schedule will be posted on the Forums and the FESTIVAL verb just prior to the start of each run.
The Coraesine Field
Heavy ruts crossed the field, going from nowhere to nowhere, stopping briefly at the middle of nowhere, somewhere in between. At that stop, the bannered flag atop a blue silk tent flapped in the breeze. The sun reflected off its embroidered thread-of-silver crest, the only bright and shining thing in an expanse of green.
A man, similarly clad in matching blue and silver livery, pushed up his sleeves and surveyed the empty expanse around him. His horse, less impressed, grazed in the pasture, happily chewing away at wild clover and green grass. Every now and again the beast would find itself close to the only other feature of the field, a single spire of silvery-veined rock. With a stamp and a snort, it would back slowly away every time to resume a more distant forage.
Pacing twelve steps, the man drove a stake into the ground, then turned on his heel. He paced again and again, then drove another stake into the ground. Over and over, pacing and staking, staking and pacing, the man measured out the field. He quartered it. He divided it. He marked off several spots with different colors, and when the day was done, he stood in front of his tent and watched the train of wagons start to roll onto the field.
The Convocation of Coraesine Field would soon begin.
~~
The carriages began arriving the next morning, each ornate transport followed by a series of smaller, less ostentatious conveyances. Through some of the grimier windows, he could make out wan, travel-weary faces, but for the most part, the chief coaches remained curtained, their precious political and social cargo hidden away from prying eyes.
He recognized the delicate, fragile coaches of the elven delegation, each emblazoned with a crest not unlike his own. The post-boy on the lead carriage gave him the courtesy of a nod as they passed.
He saw the heavy, bearskin-canopied chariots of the giantkin. The wheels on one wagon alone were as tall as his horse, and they left heavy ruts behind them, as well as a most unwelcome cloud of dust.
He noted the short carriages of the gnomes, both burghal and forest, who did not arrive together, but some hours apart, and the equally diminutive transports of the halflings.
The morning turned into afternoon, and the afternoon pressed forward into evening, until finally there were gathered twelve sets of coaches, and a few half-elves crammed together in one wagon that seemed largely laden with jugs and amphorae.
The pavilions were up. The pennons fluttered. The sun began to go down, bathing all of Elanith's disparate children in a pale, purplish blue twilight. Retiring to his own small blue silk tent, he pondered the days to come. There would be politicking. There would be arguments. There would likely be backstabbing, and there would definitely be all of the drama that the confluence of the upper class and such meetings seemed to create. But...
There would also be the Processional of Convocation on Niiman, the Grey and Silver Ball on the evening of Day of the Huntress, and the chance to rub elbows with the most influential members of society, not to mention, for those less interested in the doings of the fabulous (and fabulously snooty) the wagons and wagons of wares trundled in from across the lands, and the unique services and talented artistry of each delegation's merchants. There would be music and dancing and food, and it would be a brief moment in time -- so brief, and then it would be gone.
As he sat on his narrow cot, listening to the sounds of commerce and change happening outside, he exhaled slowly. There was so much that could happen on the Field. It was going to be a heady week. He lay down in bed, curling his hand around the hilt of the dagger under his pillow.
Let it come, the Convocation of Coraesine Field!

Special Service Limitations
While this does not cover all of the above services nor all of the limitations in general, this list should provide some of the basic guidelines for the services that have pre-existing limitations in terms to which items they can be applied. For further information on limitations or what can/cannot be worked on, it is suggested that you post on the CCF Forums prior to attending the event.
Padding Services
Basic Padding - This service will apply decent crit-padding, and if this is applied to padding that already exists, it will not go over decent padding. No armor over +40 may be used. No non-fluff scripted items.
Extraordinary crit-padding and damage-padding - Armor may not be more than +40. Armor with non-fluff scripts will need to be reviewed to see if they are eligible for the service. Armor with existing padding may be used, but the total padding will not exceed very heavily padded for either type of padding.
Enchanting Services
No more than +5 may be added to a single item during this event. No non-fluff scripted items.
Enchanting bows - Items may not exceed +30.
Enchanting weapons/armor - May not exceed +40 (note that nagintas are treated differently). Weapons/armor with weighting/padding greater than the mid-range of "heavily weighted" (damage or crit) cannot be enchanted.
Extraordinary enchanting (+5) of weapons/armor - This can be applied to claidhmores, DB items, highly padded items, etc. May not exceed +50. Bandoliers, Variable Weighting vs. Living/Flares vs. Undead swords, "Flaming" weapons, and shadowdeath weapons are NOT eligible for this service. Iasha white ora, black ora, blessing-flared, rotating/switch-flared, self-mana, returning, snake-flared, mechanical-flared, poison-flared, polearm-flared, and knockout-flared weapons ARE eligible for this service.
Other Weapon/Armor Services
TD booster added to shield/armor - This will add a +10 TD to armor or shield. No non-fluff scripted items. Armor or shields with existing TD bonuses will either have their bonus increased by +5 OR have their bonus increased to 10, whichever is greater.
Weighting - This service will apply a small amount of crit-weighting. No weapons over +35 (note that nagintas are treated differently). If this is applied to already weighted items, it cannot exceed decently crit-weighted in amount.
Extraordinary Weapon Weighting - This service will apply a "fair amount" of crit-weighting to any weapon that already has critical weighting. No weapons over +35 (note that nagintas are treated differently). Items with non-fluff scripts will need to be reviewed to see if they are eligible for the service.
Sanctifying Weapons - Neither weapons with scripting that is not purely fluff nor coraesine, black ora, urglaes, or urnon weapons may receive this service.
Mana Vial flares - These can only go on weapons that do not already have existing special properties, such as scripts or weighting.
Sighting bows – This may be used on bows that already have sighting bonuses, though they may not go over a final sighting of a +7 bonus. The exceptional sighting service for a bow will not go over a +12 bonus. Combat scripts will preclude your bow from having either the sighting or the enchanting, though they can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Spell Knowledge enhancive - one service will apply Divine Shield knowledge (spell 1609) to any shield; one service will apply Phoen's Strength knowledge (spell 606) to any weapon; one service will apply Bravery knowledge (spell 211) to any armor. This cannot go on items that are already enhancive, and the charges on this will be limited.
General Service
Extraordinary lightening/deepening - This refers to offering a double lightening or a double deepening, but still staying within limits of what is allowed overall. A single item may not be lightened/deepened more than once per run.
Removal Services
Stripping scripts from items - This is only for *purely fluff* scripts.
Padding removal - The item must not have a combat-affecting script on it that expects/creates/modifies padding.
Flare removal - May not remove any flares that inherent to an item's properties (like drakar weapons).
