A couple of things about the skeletons:

1) They are NOT containers.

2) Just because you see someone FEED something to a skeleton, do not take the first prized possession you find in your backpack and feed it to the skeleton "just to see what will happen". Odds are, that "something" will not be something good.

As the announcement in the game said, we are not responsible for what happens if you decide to feed things to the skeleton that end up getting chewed up and spit back at you.

Kurmin gave out a few examples of item combinations that will result in useful items and plenty more will be revealed as times goes on. There are dozens of combinations to be discovered, however, if you're the investigating/spading type, you need to test and experiment with items that aren't irreplaceable.
