Rangers Rolling Again!
Personal Trail Markers!
The Personal Trail Marker system is a new feature using the SCOUTING
skill. A Ranger can use a rock to create a trail marker. They can
also find trail markers left by other Rangers, teach other Rangers
to read their own marks and track down a Ranger whose trail marker
they come across (follow a fellow Ranger's trail). Verbs such as
COVER, ARRANGE, TURN, and KICK
can be used on the trail marks to make it easy or hard for another
Ranger to find
How Does It Work?
Using the Personal Trail Marker system is easy, when you follow
the following steps.
- Get any rock and use BESEECH ELANTHIA TO IMBUE on
it
- Do not RUB the rock like you normally would when using
the beseech
- Get a carving or skinning knife, and go to the room where you
want to make your trail marker
- MARK your rock to form the trail marker
- STUDY your rock
Congratulations! You have left a trail marker. Now, when you want
to get back to your trail marker:
- STUDY your rock - study your rock to remember where
the trail marker was built
- SCOUT your rock - This starts you (and any in your
group) on the journey back to the room where the trail marker
was built
The Ranger has many option available in this new system. Some thing
you may want to experiment with are READ and LOOK
at your rock, COVER, ARRANGE and LOOK
at your (or someone else's) trail marker. Of course there are also
some other features to this system! You'll need to experiment more
to find out just what they are!
TRACK Updates
The TRACK verb has received rework and upgrades. Tracking
non-moveable non-player characters is no longer allowed. Rangers
can track while hidden if they pass a skill check, remain hidden
when tracking if they pass a skill check, and hide theirs and other
players' tracks.
The amount of time one can hold a tracked target is based on a
skill check and will last for up to 15 minutes. Tracking experience
will now be calculated more accuratly and based on the distance
to the tracked target. Roundtime will now have a greater fluctuation
and be based on skill.
Rangers can now lead players with them while tracking, providing
they pass a few skill checks. Tracking messaging has also been reworked.
Rangers Slow Down Pesky Graves
Ranger Roopardua made an appearance recently and showed Rangers
how to BESEECH ELANTHIA TO SEAL. This beseech will extend
the time on a character's grave before it starts ejecting items.
You will need to go see Guild Leader Tomma in Shard to get started
on the quest. This beseech is for Rangers of at least 50th circle
Treehouse Spyglass
The spyglass in the Ranger guild treehouse has been changed a bit.
You can now see all the ordinal points (compass directions). Have
fun!
