Simutronics Expands Management Team and Facilities

Simutronics announced today that Phil Salopek has joined its management team as Chief Financial Officer. The firm also announced that it is expanding its facilities to accommodate its growth.

"Phil's experience in raising capital and helping companies grow and scale through periods of rapid expansion comes at a critical and exciting time for Simutronics and the game industry as a whole," said Neil Harris, executive vice president of Simutronics.

Salopek brings to Simutronics more than 15 years of financial management experience and has played key roles for several technology companies during their growth and with their strategic moves, including equity financings, debt facilities and both buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisition activity. He will direct the Simutronics financial operations, including accounting and administrative functions.

Salopek previously served as CFO of BroadSoft, Inc., where he guided the company through two equity raises and multiple debt facilities and was a critical contributor to helping the company grow organically from startup to over $60 million in just 4 years. Prior to BroadSoft, Salopek served as the CFO of Approva Corporation during its startup phase. Salopek also held several financial management positions, including CFO, at AXENT Technologies, a publicly traded software and service company, where he played a major role in several acquisitions and was integral in the eventual sale of the company to Symantec for approximately $1 billion in 2000.

"I am excited to join Simutronics, a pioneer in the gaming space and now a leader in providing technology to others, during this exciting time of growth," said Salopek.

Simutronics recently reached an agreement with SS&D Properties, LLC which is building a new 26,000 square foot facility in the 370 Corporate Center Office Park in St. Charles, MO to accommodate the Simutronics development studio. Ground has been broken and the company expects to move in to its new space in late summer.

"This is an amazing time for Simutronics. Our technology platform has proven to be best of breed and we are on top of a worldwide surge in MMO and virtual world development," said David Whatley, Simutronics CEO and technology visionary.

The company's expansion is driven by growth of HeroEngine, its industry-leading development platform for massively multiplayer online (MMO) games and virtual worlds. Today MMO games are one of the fastest growing segments of the video game market bringing in billions of dollars in global revenues. According to DFC Intelligence, by 2011 global revenues from online games may reach $13 billion USD per year. Millions of people all around the world socialize and compete with each other in the virtual worlds of EverQuest, World of Warcraft, Lineage and other popular MMO games.

Simutronics is exhibiting its HeroEngine platform and related technologies this week in San Francisco at the Game Developers Conference, North Hall booth 6405.
