Worlds Largest Gathering of Online Gamers to Meet in St. Louis
Simutronics Announces SimuCon 2000
St. Louis, MO (June 12, 2000) - The world's largest gathering of Internet
game players, SimuCon 2000, will meet in St. Louis, Missouri from June 15th
to June 17th. SimuCon 2000 will bring together close to 600 players of Simutronics
games from across the globe for the fifth annual gathering of players organized
by Simutronics.
Topping the lineup of unique events during this year's convention is the wedding
that will take place between two players who met and fell in love while playing
one of the games. They join a long list of people who have found romance within
the online virtual worlds. Simutronics' fantasy role-playing games foster unique
friendships between players who meet online to hunt for mythical beasts, discover
treasure, and solve quests; and SimuCon 2000 allows them the rare opportunity
to meet each other outside of the game worlds.
Attendees to this year's SimuCon 2000 will also be treated to a guest appearance
by actor Robert Trebor, Salmoneus on the hit television shows Hercules: The
Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. In addition to his role as Salmoneus,
Trebor has appeared in other movies and television shows in a variety of roles,
and has recently expanded his horizons to include writing with the upcoming
publication of his first novel. His visit is especially anticipated by players
of Hercules & Xena: Alliance of Heroes, a Simutronics game that allows players
to follow in the footsteps of their favorite television heroes.
The weekend-long convention begins on Thursday, June 15th with a welcome reception
and culminates with Saturday's gala costume ball and dinner party. Throughout
the weekend, players will attend a full schedule of seminars where they can
share their gaming experiences, learn of future plans for their favorite game
and trade strategy secrets for Simutronics' award-winning titles, GemStone IV,
DragonRealms, Hercules & Xena: Alliance of Heroes and Modus Operandi.
