Rockville, MD (December 14, 1998) – Simutronics (http://simutronics.com), the leader in multiplayer online games, announced today that their massively multiplayer games are now featured on Lycos, the Web’s second most visited hub with more than 27 million unique monthly visitors.

The launch of Simutronics'® critically acclaimed CyberStrike® 2 title on Lycos’ Games Web Guide kicks off the alliance between the two companies. The game is available immediately at http://www.lycos.com/games. Designed from the ground up for online play, CyberStrike 2 features breathtaking graphics and smooth Internet performance in action packed 3D environments. Other Simutronics titles, GemStone IV, DragonRealms, Modus Operandi and Hercules and Xena: Alliance of Heroes will all be available on Lycos.com by the end of the year.

"Lycos represents the next step toward our goal: building the largest multi-player game distribution channel on the Web," states Neil Harris, executive vice president of Simutronics. "Subscribers to our games have nearly doubled in the past year, and the massive Lycos audience opens our titles to tens of millions more."

Already Lycos is integrating Simutronics’ products into their gaming community. Numerous special events are being planned to celebrate CyberStrike 2’s debut on Lycos.com, including interviews with the games’ developers, contests and tournaments. Additionally, a special CyberAcademy will be offered to help new players become acquainted with the game. All the events being planned will take advantage of Lycos’ extensive community features such as chat, homepage builders and message boards.

"Lycos has seen tremendous growth in the number of users who enjoy playing games online," said Howie Snyder, senior product manager for the Games Web Guide for Lycos. "Our alliance with Simutronics increases the quantity and quality of games available on Lycos for our users to enjoy."
