Product Developer
Also known as OSGMs, product developers are the front-line implementors for
Simutronics' games. Applicants are expected to have previous scripting or programming
experience, and demonstrate a passion for coding. Hired individuals will
be trained extensively in our proprietary scripting language, HSL, as well
as best practices for programming. Product Developers will be responsible
for the technical design and implementation of game systems for Hero's Journey. Career
paths for Product Developers include game design, programming, information

Area Designer
More commonly known as level designers in the gaming industry, Area Designers
are the individuals responsible for crafting good gameplay experiences from the
resources created by OSGMs, artists, and programmers. Applicants are expected
to have previous level design experience, and will be asked to pass a level design
test using the Unreal Editor. Hired individuals will be trained extensively
in our proprietary world-building tool, HeroBlade, which is part of the HeroEngine
game engine that Simutronics licenses to other MMO developers. Area Designers
will be responsible for designing and implementing areas of all types, ranging
from cities to common hunting areas to instanced quest areas, all of which present
unique challenges to the designer. Career paths for Area Designers include

Web Designer/Developer
Web Designers are responsible for our web presence. Applicants are
expected to have previous experience building and maintaining a website. Knowledge
of HTML is necessary, as well as experience with a web-based programming language
such as ASP or PHP, image editing tools (Photoshop, Paintshop), and WYSIWYG editors
(Dreamweaver, Frontpage, Homesite). Knowledge of Macromedia Flash or Shockwave
is a plus, as is experience making multimedia movies, and setting up and administrating
a CMS (Mambo, Wordpress, MoveableType, etc.). Hired individuals will be
trained in the use of Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and our proprietary
web platform. Areas of responsibility include publishing our website, creating
game promotions, implementing new back end designs, and web-based interfaces. To

3D Artist
Artists are the heart of graphical games. They breathe life into a game
world by collaborating in a shared vision for its look and feel. Applicants
are expected to have previous experience with 3D modeling software, and will
be asked to pass a modeling test in the application of their choice. Simutronics
uses 3D Studio Max, and will train hired individuals in its use. 3D Artists
will typically specialize in particular aspects of 3D modeling as their experience
grows. Areas of specialty include environment modeling and texturing, character
modeling and texturing, and character animations. To apply as a 3D Artist,

C++ Programmer
Programmers are the company's tool builders. They are also responsible
for creating the foundation on which our games are created. Applicants
are expected to have previous experience with programming C++ for the PC, and
demonstrate a passion for coding. Programmers can expect to specialize
in particular aspects of game-related programming as their experience grows. Areas
of specialty include programming rendering engines, game servers, network communications,
